Duties of Elected Positions
President
Wendy Johnson
The President shall direct the officers, committees, and Board of Directors, and shall act as the presiding officer at all meetings of the Board of Directors and general membership. The President shall be responsible for conducting the business of the Vermillion Youth Soccer League, for implementing policies established by the Board of Directors, and for coordinating the activities of the Vermillion Youth Soccer League. The President will also coordinate with the Director of Club Soccer all activities relating to club soccer and coordinating with the High School Board all activities regarding high school soccer. This is not limited to liason to SDHS (South Dakota High School Soccer), SDSSA (South Dakota State Soccer Association) as it relates to junior varsity & varsity players and the decision regarding eligibility of players, for club soccer, for general administration, and for other duties as the Board of Directors may approve or direct. Additional committees may be appointed as necessary by the President.
Vice President
Kelly Herbster
The Vice President shall assist the President in his or her duties. In the event of the President not being able to attend a Board meeting, the Vice President will assume the President’s duties. The Vice President shall recommend long range projects and goals for the betterment of the Vermillion Youth Soccer League. The updating of the Bylaws & Addendum to the Bylaws will be the responsibility of this officer as well as updating the Rules and Regulations Policies.
Director of High School Soccer
Mary Meadows
The Director of High School Soccer will run under the direction of VYSL. This person will directly oversee the high school program and will form a High School Committee. The High School Committee will meet as needed and consist of a High School Boys Manager, High School Girls Manager, High School Boys Rep, and High School Girls Rep, Coaches, and the Treasurer for high school soccer and others as assigned.
Director of Club Soccer

The Director of Club Soccer will run under the direction of VYSL. This person will directly oversee the Club Soccer Program and will form a Club Soccer Committee. The Club Soccer Committee meets as needed and will consist of two parent representatives, the coach, and others as needed and assigned.
Secretary
Teresa Carlisle
The Secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings and shall maintain and distribute typed meeting minutes to all Board members in a timely manner through mail or electronically. The secretary shall also assist the presiding officer at meetings in determining and maintaining the agenda, and shall perform other duties as directed by the President.
Game Coordinator

The Game Coordinator shall be responsible for all aspects of carrying out the schedule of the Vermillion Youth Soccer League including coordination with Yankton Youth Soccer. The Games Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Referees.
Director of Referees
Levi Froke
The Director of Referees shall be responsible for recruiting and organizing the training of the referees and to help recruit and organize any training for coaches. Qualified referee instructors shall be solicited to train, evaluate and place, by division, the League’s referees. Director of referees is responsible for updating the Board on any rules or regulation changes and communicate with the Board any issues or concerns regarding referees and their interactions with players, coaches, and spectators as it relates to the Leagues Code of Conduct.
Equipment Coordinator

The Equipment Coordinator, under the direction of the Board of Directors, shall be responsible for determining the material requirements of the Vermillion Youth Soccer League. The Equipment Coordinator shall be responsible for the purchasing, distribution and collection, when appropriate, of all equipment, such as uniforms or shirts, nets, balls and other game and practice materials.
Duties of Non-Elected Positions
Treasurer/Registrar (Paid Position)
Jayme Mulheron
The Treasurer/Registar shall be paid $250 per season or $500 per year.
The Treasurer/Registrar shall oversee the collection of all dues and fees, shall have charge of all monies, issue bills and receipts for dues and fees, and pay all bills due of the Vermillion Youth Soccer League, including the payment of referees. The Treasurer/Registrar shall maintain checking and savings accounts in a reputable bank in the name of the Vermillion Youth Soccer League, with signature authority requiring two of the following: President, Treasurer/Registrar. The Treasurer/Registrar shall keep a detailed record of the income and expenditures and submit a written, detailed monthly report to the Board of Directors and a written general report at each Annual General Membership meeting.
The Treasurer/Registrar shall be responsible for executing the registration of teams and players with the Vermillion Youth Soccer League and the South Dakota State Soccer Association. The Treasurer/Registrar shall
maintain team and player registration records including birth certificates, team rosters and coaches. It will also be the responsibility of the Registrar for keeping track of Volunteer Disclosure Forms (VDF’s) from all adult volunteers according to the SDSSA schedule and reminding volunteers to fill them out each season.
High School Treasurer

The HS Treasurer shall oversee the collection of all dues and fees, shall have charge of all monies, issue bills and receipts for dues and fees, and pay all bills due of the HS Soccer teams, including payment of referees. The HS Treasurer shall maintain checking and savings accounts in a reputable bank in the name of the Vermillion High School Soccer League, and with a signature authority requiring two of the following:
President and HS Treasurer. The Treasurer shall keep a detailed record of the income and expenditures and submit a written, detailed monthly report to the Board of Directors and a written general report at each Annual General Membership meeting.
Website Director
Brad James
The Website Director shall be responsible for maintaining communications between the Vermillion Youth Soccer League and the media, including, but not limited to, scores, standings, and information on upcoming events.
Recreation Director of the City of Vermillion
Lauren Tolsma
The Recreation Director of the city of Vermillion shall serve as an ex officio, non-voting member of the Board of Directors of the Vermillion Youth Soccer League.
